Pumkin Painting

This is almost the best time of year. The beginnings of fall for me is kind of the same as in March when spring comes. I like seasonal change. For the fall -- much like spring -- it means a lot of yard work and house maintenance. In September I aerated the yard, planted some seed, limed, fertilizer... This month I'll be closing off vents, cutting off water lines, checking pipes, gutters, etc... It's the winter I hate. Wet ground, cold, colds, running nose, de-icing windows, thermostats that move, mud, cold, gloves, jackets, hats, dark, etc,etc... So for us the fall festivals, Halloween, oyster fest and our trip to the pumpkin patch is kind of like our last hooray -- before we start telling our kids "You can't go outside because it's too cold".
