Only 1 more weekend until school starts.

Last weekend we were able to go camping during the hottest weekend of the year. Thankfully, we did have the lake to cool off -- and it did get quite cool at night. Cool enough that we needed some extra blankets.

Which surprising was only 45 minutes from Chesterfield. Park offers Tent camping as well as RV and Pop-ups. Finding a good spot was a challenge -- many of the spots are not flat or well defined. But the bath/shower houses were very clean - which is always good. The rangers / staff were extremely nice and checked on us several times during our stay. Matthew and Adam did a couple of the park activities - such as making smores and catching water bugs. We had a great time and will be going back next year. Our next camping trip is hopefully going to be in October somewhere in the mountains - maybe Big Meadows...
