Ellwood for Lunch!
Remember that time back in Elementary school when you thought if you asked a question -- everyone would turn around and laugh?? That's the kind of vibe you get when you go into Ellwood Thompson. Okay maybe it's not quite like that. This was my first visit to Ellwood.
Anyway, I saw the menu for todays Hot Bar Menu and I wanted wings.
Wings, Salad, Sweet Potatoes = $6.36. Everything was great and how about those recyclable containers (does the weight of the box effect my price?).

Hi, I wanted to say thank you for coming to Ellwood Thompson’s for lunch, I am glad you enjoyed it and we really appreciate you bloging about it.
To answer you question (and I promise I am not laughing at you) the weight of our recyclable containers is deducted from the weight of your lunch. We have the tare weights for any of our containers stored into our registers so regardless if you are refilling bottles of shampoo in our bulk department, buying a fruit cup in our produce department or filling up a tray from out new hot bar. Ellwood Thompson’s does not charge you for you containers.
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and helping our guests reduce theirs. We did away with plastic bags at the beginning of this year, switched most of our paper goods over to compostable corn products and implemented our enviro credit which rewards guests with a twenty-five cent discount for walking, biking, skating busing or using any other alternative transportation to the store.
We also encourage our customers to ask questions. We have an extremely knowledgeable staff and we love to share the stories of our products, farmers and producers. We even have a full time in store educator to ensure our stewards continue to learn and are able to pass pertinent information on to you.
